HopeWorks is about meeting practical needs in our community and surrounding area. It is an effort to show people the love of Christ by helping to meet some of their physical needs. We offer “Soup Saturday”, and the “Food Pantry” on the last Saturday of every month from 9:00 am until 12:00 (unless the food runs out sooner). Except November & December which is the 3rd Saturday of the Month due to the Holidays. We provide food for people facing hunger and food insecurity. Visit a food pantry event to receive healthy food and groceries for yourself and your family.
Identifying The Problem
In the State of Texas, 1 in every 4 children lives in poverty and about 15% of the elderly in Southeast Texas live in poverty. In fact, the same statistic is true for our entire country. The nation’s economic crisis has sent the number of Americans who lack enough food skyrocketing. Nationally, about 15 percent of the population is deemed food insecure, meaning they do not have guaranteed access to three meals per day. Locally, that number is even higher in the counties we serve. With numbers so high, it is our duty to fight against the crippling effects of chronic hunger.
Mission Statement
Leading The Fight Against Hunger in Southeast Texas.
Vision Statement

We’re Making An Impact
You may be surprised to know that about 12,000 households receive food each month from member agencies of the Southeast Texas Food Bank. HopeWorks in partnership with Southeast Texas Food Bank serves Jasper and Newton counties. Although our efforts are paying off, your continued support is vital to our ongoing struggle. Thank you for supporting HopeWorks and the Southeast Texas Food Bank.
